About CPC

History

Cornelius Presbyterian Church was founded in April, 1909 in the cotton farming community of Cornelius, North Carolina. Located some 20 miles north of uptown Charlotte, the church’s beautiful and historic sanctuary was dedicated in February, 1923.

Since the very inception of our church, we have been proud members of the Presbyterian denomination. We are one of 9,000 congregations of the PCUSA.

What We Believe.

But that brief history doesn’t tell you all you need to know. We are a warm and vibrant family of faith with 50 members. We are fond of saying that we are a small church with a big heart. The bond of love we feel for each other is real and palpable. We have discovered the transforming power of Jesus Christ in our lives. We strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives, even as we watch and work for God’s kingdom to come and God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
